Introducing DUSTBUNNIES – a new Under the Rug Theatre workshop series for playwrights to develop work with a room of experienced theatre creatives.
If you have a draft that's collecting dust, or if you need an experimental space to take your script to the next level, we want to help you get your ideas out from under the rug and onto their feet!
Each successful candidate will have two hours dedicated to their script, where experienced creatives will perform, discuss, question, and critique, with the chance to get feedback from an audience on the day.
Submissions have now closed and chosen scripts will be announced in January.

Under the Rug Theatre's sell-out scratch night is back bigger and better than ever, but this time... with a theme!
We have been working hard to ensure our scratch nights continue to grow and develop along with the artists they exist with. And that is why we are so excited to announce our biggest one yet!
All information and reveals for CAR3 will be announced on the UtRT social media pages, so make sure to give us a follow so you don't miss out!
Submissions will be open from 12pm on Monday the 5th of February to 12pm on Monday the 4th of March.
We accept all forms of creative practice.
We are particularly interested in works which explore cultural/political/social themes that aren't widely explored.
CUTTIN' A RUG 2 was Under the Rug Theatre's second seasonal scratch night event were we showcased six new works in various stages of development to a sympathetic audience at Glasgow's iconic Record Factory.
Each artist received support from Under the Rug Theatre during the development and creation of their pieces as we worked together to stage their ideas on the 10th of December 2023.
Our audience were then welcomed to offer some feedback & responses on each artists work which was then used to support the future development of their pieces.

A vital new comedy play by Glaswegian playwright Mikael Philippos and Under the Rug Theatre, about the real struggles, judgement, and most importantly, laughs a family affected by incarceration experience.
Four years into her husband’s sixteen-year prison sentence, a mother is still trying to navigate her family through their new normal.
With two teenage kids, a comical best friend, social workers, puberty, washings, sex, universal credit, and the price of fabric softener going through the roof– who’s really serving time?
This is a story about family, friendship, compassion, and finding joy in hard situations.
Under the Rug Theatre announced our first annual scratch night Cuttin’ a Rug, a night of variety, new work and fun!
